Volunteering

My first volunteering experience was at a local castle as a team event with work. We built a new path and some housing for birds.

Parasailing

Parasailing isnt as thrill seeking as I expected. Its really relaxing when you're 400 ft up in the air.  We saw a giant turtle and what I HOPE was a dolphin as we were dunked in the sea at one point.  I'm terrified of the sea!

Zip line over alligators

I Managed to get a groupon voucher for a ziplining over alligators experience.

Brilliant views from the top of the park.  I had no fear on this experience but that was due to the staff being excellent and made me feel really safe!  They were funny and informative also.

Helium balloons

On Thursday night I let go of five helium balloons with my email address attached. Two of them were found six miles away.  I hope I hear back about the other three :)

100 letters - the outcome

Its been just over a month since I posted out the letters/emails looking for freebies.  Here are the results so far.  If theres nothing next to it I still haven't heard back.  Any ideas with what to do with the freebies would be appreciated, feel free to leave a comment below.  One idea I have is to leave the vouchers next to the item in a supermarket for the next person to use with their shopping.  18 freebies out of 100 - its not great but not bad :)

More random acts of kindness

I've made up 25 small gift bags.  Gifts inside some of them are hand decorated wine glasses, keyrings and lolly pops.  Each one of them includes a nice message and a link to my blog and email address.  These are to be left on strangers door steps :)

Next on todays list was to hand write 250 notes on macmillan headed paper with a link to a just giving page asking "can you spare £1?" .  Tomorrow I will go for a walk and post all of these and see if anyone makes a donation.

The Bungee Jump

A bungee jump is on most peoples bucket list and for a good reason too!  That feeling of free falling before the rope stops you from hitting the ground cannot be beaten!  

On June 22nd A group of ten of us went to The Highland Fling Bungee in Killiekrankie for a 132 ft jump. Excellent staff made us all feel at ease as we jumped off that ledge.

This is a must do for any bucket listers!!

Notes to strangers

Today I've written some notes with nice messages on them and will be leaving them lying around for strangers to find.  On the back is my blog address and email address.

In the past I found a lovely note and I hope this makes a few people smile when they find them.

Asking 100 companies for free things

If you dont ask you dont get.

This weekend I decided to contact 100 companies to ask for free samples, coupons or any freebies.  The point of this is to see if with the money I spent on stamps I could make back or make more of by receiving free gifts.

It would be a bit boring to just write and ask for freebies so I decided to make them all a little fun.  Here's just a few examples:

I contacted car companies asking them to send me a free keyring so I could pretend I owned that car when I was in meetings at work instead of looking poor.

A letter to a rabbit food company was written from my pet rabbits.

And I even said I was looking for a freebies as it is my birthday coming up.

In one month I will post an update with anything I receive or any no responses.

This one will be fun :)

Attend a boxing event

November 2012,  My boyfriend and I attending a boxing event with my work in November 2012.  It was enjoyable watching all of the fights, sometimes you had no clue who was going to win.

This is something I'd love to do again,  This was a masquarade/burlesque ball held in Aberdeen to raise money for Papyrus charity .

Drive a Speed Boat

Crete - May 2012,
My boyfriend and I hired a speedboat for an hour in Greece, it was so much fun but quite scary when we went further out to sea as it was really bumpy.

Visit Harry Potter World

This was the best thing about visiting Orlando, I've been 4 times now!  Im going back to Florida in September this year so will go again.  I went on all of the rides, got my wand at Ollivanders and enjoyed a butter beer which was lovely! 

Swim with Dolphins
